Alpinestars V-Twin Pants

These pants are sold in US pant sizes, but we find the pants to measure out smaller than indicated by about one size. We’ve listed the measured sizes below. In general, we recommend that you buy one size larger than you normally buy in jeans or slacks if you plan to wear these pants over underwear only. If you plan to wear these as overpants over street clothes you will probably need to buy two sizes larger.

The V-Twin pants by Alpinestars offer excellent abrasion and crash protection like a conventional sport pant, but in a style that would appeal more to street and cruiser riders. They have a jean type cut with two front pockets and two rear pockets. The pants aren’t baggy by any means, but they have a more relaxed fit when compared to a lot of leather riding pants. And the legs are a flared boot cut to be worn over boots rather than tucked in (Alpinestars says you can do either, but we don’t think so). The knees come equipped with removable CE approved armor, and there is some comfortable foam padding in the hips. The knee armor is a thinner, more flexible armor than the “shaped” armor you find in sport pants. These pants offer a 3/4 length leg zipper that will allow you to get in and out of them easily. The zippers would really come in handy if you plan to wear the pants as overpants (see sizing comments above). There is a full-circumference zipper for attachment to compatible Alpinestars jackets. The connection zipper also includes the mating half that can be sewn into the jacket of your choice. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see some good closeups.
