Sizing Information

The overall fit/size of this new style seems “true” to their published size chart (see below), so if you are comfortable with a certain size from previous boots, then choose the same size. I’d consider the width of the men’s sizes to be normal to slightly wide (D or E).

Our Two Cents

These boots impressed me for a number of reasons. First and foremost is how easy they are to put on relative to how secure they feel on your feet. The inner side of these boots has a 6 1/2 inch zipper under Velcro. The outer sides have large Velcro panels as well which allow you to fold down the top half of the boot to get them on and off. Underneath the fold down area you can see the Gore-Tex® membrane as well as the speedlace system. Many boots in this category rely on a simple side zipper with Velcro which makes getting them on and off easy, but I always wonder how secure they are on your feet. The speedlace system takes away that concern as you can really snug them up good before doing up the sides (and as the name implies, the laces are pretty quick to adjust). Another advantage to having the dual side openings is the flexibility for those with larger calves. Since the side zipper only runs a little more than half way up the side of the boot, the top shin and calf area can be secured with the Velcro in a variety of positions for a good custom fit. As for protection, these boots have reinforced areas at the heel, toe, and shin areas. The front and rear of these boots also feature accordion style flex panels to add some flexibility which not only helps for comfort on long rides, but for walking around when off the bike as well. Of course we all know what the Gore-Tex name means – these things aren’t going to leak on you unless you get into some water that simply comes up over the liner (which the top 4 inches of the boot does not have). In normal riding conditions in the rain (and with the right pants over these), your feet should stay nice and dry.
