Alpinestars CR One Piece Suit

The suits are offered in European sizes, so you can select the size using Alpinestars sizing chart using your chest and waist measurements. If you have a bit of a belly, please also measure and compare to the following table. Make sure you are selecting a suit size that will accommodate your chest, belly and waist (from the Alpinestars chart). Height on these suits could be described as “average”. For the smaller suits, max height would be about 5’8”, for mid-size suits about 5’11”, and for the larger suits about 6’1”. If you are taller, then you will want to consider a 2pc suit or a jacket/sport pant combination which will give you more torso height.

The CR race suit is a well constructed partially perforated race suit that should work out well in warmer weather. This suit has a nice style to it too. The white stripes coming across the legs and sides of the chest are strips of leather that are individually sewn on giving it a neat layered look. The armor in this suit is quite substantial and should provide excellent protection in the event of a fall. The shoulders and elbows are protected with removable CE approved armor, and the elbow armor extends down the arm toward the wrist for extra coverage. The knee and shin armor are made of two separate pieces allowing for better comfort in the riding position (since this type armor is pretty stiff if it is a one piece design). This suit also comes with an aerodynamic speed hump. The speed hump has a couple different functions. It is padded offering some impact protection for your back, and it will also provide a bridge between the back of a rider’s helmet and their shoulders in case of a fall. This lessens the chance of one’s neck being wrenched forward (chin down position) when landing on your back. There is also some padding in the chest of the suit. This padding can be upgraded to the Alpinestars’ optional Bionic chest pads (see link below). Another handy feature is the removable nylon liner. You can zip it out and run it through the laundry to keep the interior of the suit clean. For added comfort this suit utilizes stretchy material in all of the key movement areas and a large accordion stretch zone in the lower back making the suit feel a little more natural in the tuck riding position. There are zippered closures in the wrists and calves allowing you to get in and out of the suit a little easier. One neat new feature I’m finding on some Alpinestars products (such as this one) is a bit of neoprene around the ends of the sleeves and collar which is very comfortable… much more so than just an unrolled leather end which you find on some other suits.
