Sizing Information
Use the chart below to pick the pant size for you. The pants are sold in European sizes, and Alpinestars tags the pant with their estimate of US waist size, but we find the pants to run small so we’ve listed our estimate of the US waist sizes. Don’t be thrown off by the inseam lengths listed. When comparing these lengths to jeans you buy, keep in mind that sport pants are only designed to go to the ankle bone, so if you normally buy a 32 or 33 inseam in jeans, a 30 or 31” inseam in sport pants will work for you.

Our Two Cents
The Apex pants are a classic pair of high quality leather sport pants. These pants offer very good protection and quality construction. Along with the normal features you would expect, these pants offer some nice comfort features. There is a stretch material at the crotch and accordion stretch panels over the knee for comfort and mobility. The CE approved knee armor is installed separately from the shin piece which makes for a comfortable fit when in the tucked position. The pants also include a pair of foam hip pads for added protection. A full circumference zipper allows you to attach the pants to Alpinestars jackets (sorry, but the zipper is different from all other brands I’ve seen). You do get the mating half of the zipper so you could adapt these pants to a different brand jacket by having a tailor replace the zipper in your jacket with the one supplied with the pants. When attached to a leather sport jacket these pants would work well as the bottom half to a nice two piece suit. Note on the knee armor: In our factory samples, we noticed that the factory worker folded down the very top lip of the knee armor and then used the armor pocket Velcro to hold it in that position. So when you slide the pants on, you get a painful jab of hard plastic right above your kneecap. If you experience this, just reach up through the leg and release that top lip of the armor from the Velcro. It’s easy when you have the pants in front of you to see what I mean.
