Sizing Information

With most jackets we use our Fit Check Mannequins to check how they look and fit on some standard sized bodies, but suits are a different matter… they just won’t fit on a mannequin like they will on a body. I guess it has to do with the “pre-curved” cut of a suit and the NOT pre-curved nature of our mannequins! So for suits, we put at least one suit on a person (Bryan in this case, in a size 40) and we measure a few other representative suits to get a full picture of how they fit.

I found these suits to fit very much like Joe Rocket’s chart would indicate (see below). Through the years, I’ve found Joe Rocket gear to be.. by far… the most consistent in fit from one year to the next and one model to the next and this suit is no exception. My advice would be to use the chart below to pick the size that fits you best.

This two piece suit fit Bryan about like I would have expected for a two piece suit. The two piece isn’t as race oriented as a one piece and is cut just a bit taller. It is also more comfortable to use for the street since it allows you to stand up straight with arms down without discomfort. The length of the jacket is not much shorter than other street jackets so you could use the jacket separately with no problem which is a big “plus” of a two piece suit.

Our Two Cents

This new Blaster X two piece suit is really nice! We haven’t see a lot of new products from Joe Rocket in the last year or two, but the ones I’m seeing lately look great. And the prices are very reasonable for the overall quality I’m seeing.

This suit gets high marks with me because of the sharp styling, the predictable fit and overall value. There is only one color choice, but it is one that just about anyone can live with… basic black. And the leather has a matte finish which is sharp. There is just enough white badging and such to dress it up a bit. One surprise for me is the bright orange-red lining… I really like that.

The obvious advantage of a two piece suit is the fact that you can use the jacket without the pants. For those that ride casually but then maybe more aggressively or even some on an amateur track, a two piece like this gives a lot of bang for the buck. Some two piece suits have jackets that are just too short to look right without the pants (mostly European cut suits), but this one has a long enough torso to be just fine without the pants.

And the jacket has three pockets so you can store some stuff when you are on the street (unlike a one piece race suit which typically has one or none). Also for street is a slight bit of venting… two zip vents on the shoulders and two rear exhaust vents. There are also some very “micro” perforations on the front torso (see the large images in the gallery to see that). The collar of the jacket is lined with a neoprene material to cut down on rubbing on the neck.

The pants have two pockets in front for storing some stuff, and for comfort they have the stretch panels above the knees and in the rear below the waist. Also fabric is used in the crotch area and behind the knees… all typical features of any good quality suit these days. Knee sliders are included.

If a two piece suit makes sense to you for all the practical reasons, then this is surely one to consider. It offers sharp styling and good quality for the money. :: Paul, 10-27-14
