Sizing Information

A few of us in the office tried these boots on and thought they fit about right. We would have all chosen the size we normally wear in street shoes. I thought the width was “normal” also at about a D width, or Medium. The laces allow for a pretty good adjustment of overall tightness.

Our Two Cents

When I opened the box on the Big Bang 2.0 boots by Joe Rocket, my first reaction was that somebody at Joe Rocket has been jonesing over some Icon Super Duty 4.0 boots. The resemblance is more than passing…. Take the Icon boots, swap the black leather for black suede leather, lower the price about 25% and boom; Big Bang 2.0 boots! Well, whatever… I like this style. I’m sitting here typing right now with a pair on and they are great. They are easy to get in and out of, and they feel very sturdy. They are beefed up in the toe and heel areas for protection and also so they don’t collapse in the shift area. The laces and grommets for the laces are all very sturdy. On each side of the ankle, there are built in protectors and the sole of the boot feels sturdy as well and may have a steel shank (although the feature list doesn’t say so). The insides of the boot are plushy and comfortable. Take the “Images” link above to see the features up close and we also have a shot showing the height and sole thickness (if you do the subtraction). It all looks good to me! :: Paul, 03-07-13

Unfortunately I had to return these boots, because one of the ratchet straps wouldn't lock, and some of the parts look like they were very sloppily hand painted black rather than finished with a more durable coating. I don't have a picture of m... (Read more...)
