Sizing Information

We tried on a selection of sizes in the Centre shoe and found them to fit true to size, so our advice is to choose the size you normally wear in street shoes. The width is “medium” or C/D.

Our Two Cents

The Alpinestars Centre Shoes are a sleek, low profile riding shoe in all black microfiber material that is very stylish.

I had these new Centre shoes on my desk and would never have guessed they were made of microfiber material rather than leather until I read the literature. Microfiber used in this year’s gloves and boots from Alpinestars are just amazing as to their similarity to fine leather. Microfiber is regarded as more abrasion resistant and more durable overall than real leather, so its an idea material for motorcycling.

The overall design of this Centre shoe is very similar to the Faster series of shoes. This design is based heavily on Alpinestar’s experience in race driving shoes, which you can see in the low profile design. I find the innersole of these new boots to be thicker and more comfortable than one might guess just by looking. This shoe is styled to make the sole look VERY thin, but they don’t feel that way wearing them. The overall comfort in wearing this shoe is excellent. The laces give ample adjustability. I wish they have included some sort of way to stow the ends of the laces though like they did in the Faster 3 shoes. Oh well.

I’d characterize the overall protection scheme of this shoe to be “light”, but better than versions in the past. This is a highly styled sport shoe, so the sides of the boot wrap down to a thin sole, so they can’t provide the same protection that a more robust sole, meaning one that sticks out wider than your foot. The toe box is reinforced, but only about 1” back from the tip. On each side of the ankle, there is an embedded armor disc which will help absorb impacts that might hit the ankles from either side. :: Paul, 04-05-19
