Sizing Information

We measured and tried on a selection of these pants and we developed a size chart to help you choose a size based upon your waist and inseam. The size chart below is partially ours and partially REV’IT’s chart. The largest waist size listed in the chart are with the waist adjusters full open. The waist size adjustment straps work pretty well to give you size adjustability… we estimate about 2” as the range indicates.

As you can see in the chart, the pants are available in regular, short and tall inseam sizes, so choose the inseam you normally wear in slacks or jeans. The pants also have adjustability of the armor height (independent of inseam length). The knee armor is accessed through the zipper above the knee and the armor pocket has Velcro to hold the armor either higher or lower in the pocket. Its a pretty easy setup.

Pant Size Waist Range Inseam Reg Inseam Short Inseam Tall
Small 28-30 33 - -
Medium 31-33 33 31 35
Large 34-36 34 32 36
XL 37-39 34 32 36
XXL 40-42 34 32 36
XXXL 42-44 35 - -

Measurement tip: With a style like this that MAY be used as an overpant, you’ll want to measure your waist over the clothing you intend to wear under the pants. And measure yourself fairly high up the waist because protective style pants like this are cut to ride higher on your waist than a lot of modern jean styles (so relying just upon the size jeans you buy might result in motorcycle pants that are too small). Right below the navel is about the right height on the waist for measurement.

Our Two Cents

The number one thing to talk about with REVIT’s Commuter Pants is their functionality as overpants. Slip them on over your work clothes and go to work! Armor is included for the knees and hips and the pants are fully waterproof.

Most other REVIT riding pants are “dedicated” styles, meaning you wear them over your underwear, but the Commuter pants, as the name implies, are set up to be easily worn over your street clothes. Each leg has a full-length zipper from the legend up the inside of the leg almost to the crotch. Being on the inside of the leg, its easier to operate as compared to zips on the outside seam of the pants. The zip is plastic and its covered with a cloth flap to protect your bike’s finishes. To use the pants, just unzip and step into them just like chaps.

I like the simplicity of these pants. Basically, there is a bonded waterproof shell that is sturdy and feels especially tough. There are no removable liners, or even inside lining for that matter. They are made to be worn over your street clothes so the absence of extra layers is a plus to make them simple to use and reasonably lightweight. The armor setup is simple too… REVIT’s SEEFLEX™ Level 2 armor is included for the knees, which is their best armor. It is breathable and moderately flexible and gives a very large coverage area. The armor is installed in a pocket on the outside of the pant. You can adjust the height of the armor easily front the front. Level 1 armor is provided for the hips. The pants have one big patch pocket on the right thigh.

Check out the waist closure, It’s a slide-lock arrangement. This type of closure simply will not come undone on you when you don’t want it to. I brag on this one feature for nearly every REVIT pant design. Its unique to their brand and definitely better than other closure hardware. Need suspenders? Take the line below to REVITs optional Strapper suspender setup. Suspenders on an overpant design means you don’t have to wear the waist tightly over your street clothes which may include your belt. They make sitting much more comfortable.

As I mentioned above, the shell material of this pant is a bonded textile where the waterproofing layer is bonded to the back side of the material. They’ll breathe better than a pant with a separate waterproof layer. And they’ll definitely keep you dry. But this pant doesn’t have venting and so I’d have to say they are three season overpants. They’ll work great for nearly all seasons except hot summer weather. :: Paul, 11-14-18

REVIT says: The Commuter trousers are best described as the chicest and most comfortable high-end over pants you’ll ever have in store. They have the functionality of rain trousers yet the 3L hydratex® membrane allows them to remain highly breathable and thus more comfortable. Standard equipped with CE-level 2 protectors at knees and hips turn these into the ultimate over pants. An easy entrance zipper, adjustable protector pockets with rain channels, connection zippers, stretch borders contribute to making this the best daily commuters a rider could own.
