Sizing Information

Below we have listed the maximum waist size that each size pant will accommodate. Velcro adjustments on the waist will allow you to reduce the waist by about four inches less than the max measurements below. If you intend to wear these as overpants I would recommend buying one size larger than you otherwise would. For example, if your waist is 32” and you want to wear these pants over your jeans select a Medium with the max waist of 34”.

Our Two Cents

The Ballistic 7.0 pants offer quality construction and a practical design that would work well for street riding or touring. These pants should be comfortable in cool to warm temperatures. The overall fit of these pants is very nice. They are fairly trim and have an attractive cut. Much improved in that regard over previous designs (that is me in the pictures, don’t you agree? :). The shell is an abrasion resistant nylon material and the pants include a removable waterproof liner for use in rainy weather. The material is a bit “softer” feeling than in past years and does not make nearly as much swishy noises as before. Down the outside of each leg there is a long side zipper (in both the shell of the pants and the removable liner). This allows you to take these pants off without having to find a place to change clothes. With the zippers raised, you can step right out of them… even over boots. For crash protection the armor in the pants is very good. You get CE armor for the knees and also some removable padding in the hips. There are two different pockets for the knee armor allowing you to adjust the height position. For connection to jackets, there is a short rear zipper that connects to Joe Rocket jackets. But if you don’t have that brand of jacket, you can use the mating half of the zipper (included with the pants) and visit a tailor to install the zipper in the jacket you own. I'm not a person to normally review products, but this was necessary. I've ridden these pants commuting in Seattle from 30 to mid 60s. Didn't get in them in much hotter, but I think I will now. I rode them to Nevada through as low a 25, and wit... (Read more...)
