Sizing Information

For our Fit Check, we brought in a size Medium and XL. I’ve listed below the size chart AGV Sport publishes for textile pants, but we found something different. First of all, the product descriptions says all are a size 32” inseam, but we found the Medium was a 30” and the XL was a 31.5”.

The waist we measured was not correct either. The Medium measures 36” and the XL measures 40”. The pants allow the user to adjust the waist size down by a couple inches, but even still, the basic sizing is off by about two sizes. Good Grief!

Here is AGV Sport’s size chart:
Size Waist
Small 28-30
Medium 30-32
Large 32-34
XL 34-36
XXL 36-38
XXXL 38-40

Our Two Cents

I’ve got a few major issues with this model pant. First off, the product name implies they are a textile waterproof pant. In reality what they are is a part mesh, part textile (mostly mesh actually) pant with a poorly designed waterproof removable liner. If you take a look at our close-up pictures, I’ve included a shot of the liner when removed from the pants. As you can clearly see, there is a large scallop in the liner in the fly area. So what will happen is that water will run off the front of your jacket into your crotch area and immediately find its way right to your nether region through the opening in that liner. Sheesh! If AGV Sport had marketed this pant as a summer mesh style with a removable windproof liner, I’d think that was OK. The liner would still serve to block some wind in milder temps. I do like the overall design of the pant shell. They are attractively cut and have an effective waist adjustment. And the pockets are nice too. I found the armor to dig in to my knees when I sit in a riding position, but that is mostly because of the leg length/armor position which is too short for me in the size XL and I typically wear either a 32 or 33 inseam (see my comments on sizing issues above). So if you are looking for a mesh pant with a wind liner and you have shorter than average legs, I’d say these pants are OK but for most of us, they just have too many problems. Sorry, but I can’t recommend them. :: Paul, 06-09-14 (more about less-than-favorable reviews)
