Sizing Information

These pants are sold in waist sizes similar to jeans. Only one inseam is offered though. Here is the published chart for the pants from Icon:

Pant Size Inseam
28 32”
30 32”
32 33”
34 33”
36 33”
38 34”
40 34”
42 34”
44 34”

We checked the inseam and waist size on several size selections and the chart is reasonably accurate. Waist band sizes run about 1” larger than stated, but this is consistent with most jeans (maybe clothing makers want you to feel good about fitting in a smaller size?). Based on this, you can choose the size you normally wear in jeans. As you can see in the pictures, these pants ride higher on your waist than jeans, so those with a belly may want to check their waist just below the navel with a tape. Overall these had a very nice fit on our model. Icon claims the pants are cut not to have the saggy butt syndrome of most leather sport pants. From the pics we took, that seems to be the case!

Our Two Cents

The new Overlord Prime Leather Pants from Icon are made for street riding. The heavy leather construction along with the very substantial knee armor make these pants about as tough as any pair of protective riding pants you can buy. What makes these different than most leather pants for sport riding is that the legs are made to go OVER boots where most other sport pants are highly tapered at the ankle to be tucked INTO sport boots (much like a race suit is worn). Also, (as mentioned above), the overall cut of the the pants is more like jeans… not as pre-curved as race pants and therefore they fit better in the butt and legs when off the bike. One downside to not being as pre-curved is that the pants would tend to bunch up more behind the knees when in a tuck position, but these pants have ample stretch material in that area which will make them comfortable. Leather pants like this are heavy and want to fall down, but there is a full zipper attachment for Icon jackets (that have the compatible zipper). As an alternative, I’ve found that suspenders make a pant like this VERY comfortable to wear on or off the bike, but of course suspenders are sort of a goofy looking thing that Icon would never try to market along with the pants. If you like that idea though, consider it my tip to you. The suspenders are also great for those with a bit of a belly and/or noassatol disease (no ass at all). But enough about goofy suspenders…. please take the “View Larger Pictures” link above for some good close-ups. Nate is wearing the size 32’s in the pics and they fit him great.

I got these pants to go with my Icon Overlord leather jacket, and couldn't be happier. They are really thick and have great armor in the knees and shins. They are easy enough to get on, but you have to sit down in order to take them off. There are... (Read more...)
