Sizing Information

We checked the waist and inseam of these jeans with a tape and happily they check out fine! Jeans typically measure out just about an inch bigger in the waist than their stated size as most makers “vanity size” their jeans just a touch. Inseam measurements were spot on with the stated size. So, our advice would be to choose the size you normally wear in men’s jeans.

The fabric used in these jeans has a bit of stretch to them which will make fitting easier and will make them more comfortable to sit in! The knee armor is adjustable up or down about 2” total, which should work very well to fine tune the position. Just an FYI, in pants like this, the knee armor will drift down a bit below the knee when standing, but when you sit on the bike, it will be positioned like you expect.

Our Two Cents

The Soul Shaker pants are an alternative to the look and feel of regular jeans. These pants are more like canvas work pants. The material is a “stretch” blend, but the the stretch is minimal… it’s there and they’ll flex a little, but they don’t stretch nearly as much as Speed and Strength’s other new jeans this season, the Critical Mass stretch jeans. The styling of the jeans is much like Dockers, but I’m not sure they’d pass muster as “casual Friday” garb because the broader weave canvas-like material makes them a bit more casual.

These pants have reinforcement Kevlar material in the seat and knee areas much like most other riding jeans we have. They also include CE armor in the knees. The knee armor is adjustable up or down since the armor is “stuck” to the inside of the pant leg with Velcro to fix the position. And the armor is inside a little cotton pouch so that it is comfortable against your leg (the pouch is sewn to the pants but has the matching Velcro strip inside).

Overall, I like these pants and it is nice to be able to offer an alternative to jean styling. You might very well enjoy the variety! :: Paul, 02-09-17
