Sizing Information

We checked the waist and inseam of these jeans with a tape and happily they check out fine! Jeans typically measure out just about an inch bigger in the waist than their stated size as most makers “vanity size” their jeans just a touch. Inseam measurements were spot on with the stated size. So, our advice would be to choose the size you normally wear in men’s jeans.

I tried on a pair of these jeans to check how they fit and I think they fit like a standard to slim jean. The factor picture makes the jeans appear to fit rather skinny, but I don’t think they are. The size I tried is 36×32 and the leg end measures out at 17” circumference (8 1/2” across when laid flat) which isn’t particularly a tapered cut. I really like how they fit.

Our Two Cents

The Call to Arms Moto pants by Speed and Strength are new for 2019. The overall fit is comfortable and they have a nice look. I’d call the color “charcoal”. They aren’t quite black but not quite grey either. Not being jet black is a good thing in my book since they won’t show every little speck of lint.

Like other S&S pants, these come equipped with armor inserts at the knee. Those are placed in a fabric pocket and they affix in the pocket with a strip of Velcro, so if you open up the end of the pocket, you can disengage the Velcro and place the armor either up or down about 2” to make the armor fit your knee when you are in a sitting position. (Note: It’s normal for the armor to fall down below your knee when standing).

The denim/spandex jean shell is backed by Aramid material both in the seat and in the knees, which are the two crash prone areas in any pant. Denim alone won’t hold up long if you fall, so the Aramid fabric will increase the time the pants will keep your skin covered if you fall.

To me, the styling of the pant look somewhat like a cargo pant with the side pockets on the thigh, but I think they feel like regular jeans which is nice. Take a look at our photo gallery to get a feel for how they fit. As I mentioned in my comments, I thought they fit more like regular straight leg jeans while the factory photo makes them look more skinny. :: Paul, 02-27-19

S&S says: Speed and Strength®’s Call to Arms Moto pant’s slim fit holds tight like a performance pant with articulated knee, and waist and knee stretch panels that have just the right amount of give for comfort and maneuverability. An 11 oz., 98% cotton, 2% Lycra denim pant with a 100% polyester lining keeps you comfortable while the removable Vault™ CE-approved knee armor provides additional protection.
