Sizing Information

We tried the size Medium in this shirt on Huey and we put an XL shirt on Dewey. We also spot checked a few sizes with tape. Overall, the fit is about 1/2 size smaller than “normal” and quite a bit smaller than S & S’s standard size chart estimates. For those that have a trim build, you’ll probably find a fit in the same size as you wear in men’s clothing. Those with more stout builds will probably need one size larger. If you are between sizes, choose larger.

I’ve put together a size chart below to help you choose a size based on your chest and belly measurements. I’ve included S&S’s chest estimates which are at least a full size larger than the shirt measures. And I’ve also included what we think the max chest and belly measurements are for each size. So please measure yourself and choose a size that is big enough for both your chest and belly.

Our Two Cents

Today I’m looking at Speed and Strength’s Call to Arms Moto Shirt and also the Go For Broke 2.0 Armored Hoody. There are a lot of similarities in these so I’ll tell you about both of them. Take the link below to view the other version.

As you can see in the pictures, the Call to Arms Moto Shirt is a shirt-style jacket with a collar where the Go for Broke Hoody is, of course, a hoody. Both units are made of the same camo print cotton canvas material. The material is pretty heavy duty feeling, but being cotton they are comfortable too. Cotton is not known to be a good material for abrasion protection in motorcycle gear, but both the hoody and the shirt are reinforced on the back side of the cotton shell with Aramid fabric in the shoulders and arms, so those areas are reinforced. The inside is typical nylon mesh which is durable and comfortable.

The front closure on both is a zipper which is the best way to go to ensure the front stays closed if you fall. The Call to Arms shirt has a placket over the zipper that closes with buttons. The placket and buttons make the shirt look more like a, um, shirt, but they are cosmetic only. The shirt has a button closure at the sleeve end and the hoody has stretch cuffs. The shirt has snaps at the collar tips to hold them down (which is a great feature to keep those from flapping against your neck). I don’t see anything on the hood of the Go For Broke unit to hold the hood down… bummer.

Both models are supplied with removable armor in the shoulders and elbows and in the back too, so there is nothing else to buy. The armor is sturdy feeling, but not too thick or heavy. It’s very appropriate for a shirt/hoody style. Take a look at our photo gallery to see the misc features like pockets and closures. Both the shirt and hoody are sharp and offer good build quality. :: Paul, 02-20-19

Features front, welt hand pockets with zip closures, an armor-ready back pocket and belt loops for pant attachment.
