Sizing Information

Generally speaking, Olympia gear will work best on those with larger builds and/or people who like their clothing to fit more casually. In contrast, our European brands fit more snug and trim (REVIT, Alpinestars are examples). We tried a size Medium jacket on Huey and an XL on Dewey (our Fit Check mannequins) and they fit just fine. You can see some shots of how they look by clicking the “View Larger Images” link above.

Olympia’s standard size chart reflects the generous sizing for jackets on the larger end of the spectrum, but we think it understates the size of the smaller jackets. To make size selection easier, we’ve developed the chart below to help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements. If you find yourself between sizes in the chart, I’d advise going with the small due to the generally generous cut of the jacket.

Jacket Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 40 38
Medium 43 41
Large 45 43
XL 48 46
XXL 51 49
XXXL 54 51
XXXXL 58 56

Our Two Cents

I love the feel of this Bishop leather jacket by Olympia! The finish of this leather is high shine and it is very soft. You can tell by feeling it, it is high quality. And it is definitely thick enough to to provide abrasion protection for motorcycle riding (not just a fashion item).

This jacket comes with a full set of CE rated armor. Its the softer, energy absorbing kind, which we see a lot in cruiser or retro style jacket. It give impact protection, but doesn’t detract from the casual/cruiser looks of the jacket. I personally think this style of armor is appropriate for a style like this.

I see two chest vents, two bicep vents and two rear vents. Olympia doesn’t really call out the chest zips as vents because they have a pocket liner, but the liner is made of mesh and so air will flow, so we’ll call them double duty pockets/vents. With the six ways to get airflow, you’ll be able to get along with this jacket up to warm temps, but it is a solid leather jacket so you’ll probably not want to wear this one in the heat of summer. But the jacket does have a really nice, plushy removable full-sleeve thermal liner for use in colder temps. So overall, I’d say this one is “three season”.

Both colors really look good to me because of the quality of the leather. We used one of each color in the photo gallery, so have a look at our pictures. The factory pictures from Olympia all look rather dark, but our pictures will give you a better idea I think.

There are a few little construction details that make this jacket look like it should cost $350… There are panels of perforated leather here and there… in the underarm area, on the placket behind the zipper and sleeve end zippers and around in the inside of the collar. I also like the bronze zips and detail stitching on the side waist adjusters. And I like the way the ends of the sleeves are neatly trimmed in leather and the collar edge is trimmed with soft neoprene for comfort.

Overall, I really like the style and quality of this jacket. It compares very well to more expensive models and it will work well as a casual jacket as well as a protective jacket on the bike. :: Paul, 10-26-017
