Sizing Information

We measured each jacket size and tried the size Medium in this jacket on Huey. This is the size he normally wears and it fit very well.

This Speed and Strength jacket is an “easy fit” and is generously sized. My primary advice would be to wear the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If you are between sizes I’d advise you to go down.

If you want to double check your sizing by measuring your chest, you can use the chart below to choose a size. The Max Chest sizes listed by Speed and Strength are a bit bigger than many manufacturer’s conversion charts, and that confirms our suggestion that people who are between sizes should choose the smaller.

Size Small Medium Large XL 2XL 3XL
Max Chest 38-40 40-42 42-44 46-48 50-52 54-56
Sleeve 32 33 34 35 36 36 1/2

If you have a bit of a belly, you might want to put a tape around it and make sure the size you are choosing will work for the belly as well. The max belly sizes for any jacket size will be about 2” smaller than the max chest listed. For example, the size XL will handle up to a max 48” chest and a max 46” belly.

Our Two Cents

This new Fast Forward jacket by Speed and Strength is a very nice looking jacket. The factory pictures make the jacket’s collar area look a little funny, but when we saw the jacket in person and took our own pictures, it doesn’t look that way at all. This jacket is a nice textile shell with a removable thermal liner for warmth. The removable thermal liner comes with an attached cotton hood to make it look like you have the jacket over a hoody. It’s a styling thing really.

The thermal liner is a full sleeve type so it will give pretty good warmth in cooler weather. In warmer weather, you can remove the liner and use the front two and rear two vents to allow some air to flow. The vents are a bit limited so I’ll recommend this jacket for cold to warm weather (but not hot weather).

I like the reflective material that trims out the zips on the pockets and vents. It looks sharp in the day and serves the dual purpose of making you better seen at night.

The jacket includes a set of armor all around… shoulders, elbows and back. The storage is pretty good… two good sized hand warmer pockets, one outside chest pocket, and one inside zip-close breast pocket. This jacket is a simple, functional style that looks nice and has the added styling of the hoody. :: Paul, 08-04-17
