Sizing Information

We put a size Medium in this jacket on Huey and we put an XL jacket on Dewey. These are the sizes they normally wear and both fit very well. This jacket has a dual liner system and I’m evaluating the fit with the liners installed. The liners take up some room, so I’m finding the jackets fit a bit more trim than other Scorpion styles we’ve measured. Of course without the liners, they’d be more roomy and very close to how past Scorpion styles have fit.

I’d advise that most people will want to choose the size they normally wear in men’s clothing or by using the chart below to choose the size based upon a chest measurement. If you are between sizes, or if you prefer a roomy fit, then choose larger.

This is a bit longer style jacket and there is ample adjustments for the waist/belly area, so as long as you choose an appropriate size for your chest, you should be OK in the belly. But just in case, I added an estimated “max belly” measurement too, so you can make sure the size will accommodate your belly as well as your chest.

Size Max Chest Max Belly Sleeve Length (from center of collar in back)
Small 36-38 36 32
Medium 38-42 38 33
Large 42-44 42 34
XL 44-46 44 35
XXL 46-48 46 36
XXXL 48-50 48 37

Our Two Cents

Wow, this is a pretty neat jacket! I say so because it has LOTS of flexibility with regard to climate control, and the overall quality is very high… especially for the price.

The outer shell of the jacket is mostly made up of various panels of solid textile materials, but there are two LARGE panels of mesh on the front and one EVEN BIGGER rear exhaust panel. And in addition, there are oversized sleeve vents as well. So the longer shell gives you the coverage you want for touring or adventure riding but the extensive venting will allow you to enjoy the jacket in warmer weather (unlike the majority of adventure styles like this).

And for cooler weather and/or wet weather use, the dual liner system will be very useful. There is a full sleeve windproof and waterproof liner. That can be used to seal out any incoming air through the shell (even with the zip vents closed, there may be some leakage). And of course if it is raining, that inside liner will seal out the rain. But if that is not enough, you can put in the full sleeve thermal liner to further insulate. The combination of the two ought to take you down to very low temp ranges.

Of course the jacket has storage… two large lower-front patch pockets, two more pockets on the chest (sort of in front of the large mesh panels) and one big ‘ole fanny pack. On the inside, I see one zip-close breast pocket and one larger patch pocket.

This jacket has lots of size adjustment. Like other styles of this kind, there are two large velcro-adjustable waist straps, then there are some VERY substantial sleeve adjusters. Longer styles like this are an easy fit and with the torso adjustment look good on just about any body type.

The jacket has Sas-Tec armor in the shoulders and elbows and has a foam back pad. The foam back pad can be upgraded to a CE level 2 Sas-Tec back protector if you want something more substantial (take the link below). Sas-Tec armor is very malleable and it becomes comfortable to wear quickly.

Overall, I think this jacket is a winner. It’s got style, it is well made, has tons of comfort and safety features and the price is VERY reasonable. :: Paul, 08-11-15

I've had this jacket for about 3 years now. It is a great 4 season jacket for me, vents great in the summer. I wear my own layers in the winter, rode for 4 hours in the rain and the waterproof liner did a great job. The high viz looks great on thi... (Read more...)
