Our Two Cents

It’s not often I see a new product that has a surprising new/useful feature, but this one did surprise me. We’ve sold Icon’s Mil Spec Vests for a few seasons now and armed services people are glad to have them for use on military bases and of course just for visibility and safety. This jacket has the visibility vest built into the jacket. In the pictures above, you can see the two hi-vis reflective panels on the front and there is another one in back. When you don’t need/want them visible, they neatly tuck away in zippered compartments. What a cool idea! Otherwise, the Camo Alpha jacket is much like other Powertrip/Joe Rocket full featured textile jackets with a few more things specific to the US Army line… Of course you get the US Army logos and “digital” camo material on the shoulder. And you get the flip down badge/ID holder on the chest. There is also a handy sleeve pouch on the right arm with the US flag patch. The shell of this jacket is a rugged nylon material so it will be most comfortable for cool to warm weather street and sport riding. For cooler weather, you can use the removable vest-type liner and for warmer weather, there are a couple zippered vents on the front. The armor in the shoulders and elbows of this jacket is a CE approved “turtle shell” molded rubber type. The back protector supplied is dual density. This jacket also has another unusual but potentially handy feature: an MP3 player pocket with a grommet to pass your head phone cord through near the neck. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see the location of this pocket and this jacket’s many other styling and convenience features.
