Sizing Information

This jacket is offered in “alpha” sizing. You should be able to choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. We checked the sizing on our Fit Check mannequins. The size Med and XL fit Huey and Dewey very nicely! The overall cut of this jacket is trim and the jacket tapers from the chest to the waist. It is designed to be a snug fit. Evaluate the fit of a jacket like this while reaching forward to the handlebars. Since the sleeves are “pre-curved” to accommodate a sport bike riding stance, the jacket will seem small in the chest when you are standing with arms down.

If you have a bit of a belly, we urge you to check your belly measurement and make sure that the jacket you choose is large enough for your chest AND belly. The max bell for any jacket will about six inches less than the max chest size. Example: The size XL will accommodate a 46 chest and a 40 belly. If you are sometimes between sizes, we’d suggest choosing the larger.

Size Max Chest Max Belly Sleeve Length (from center of collar in back)
Small 36-38 32 32
Medium 38-40 34 33
Large 42-44 38 34
XL 44-46 40 35
XXL 46-48 42 36

Our Two Cents

The Assailant jacket from Scorpion is definitely made for sport riding. Of course the styling definitely says “sport”, but the fit is where you really get the idea. The whole jacket fits snug and trim. I’m not exactly a trim guy and I really liked how the jacket felt on. The arms are pre-curved and rotated forward very much like a race suit. But the jacket is surprisingly comfortable and flexible because of the stretch panels in the sleeves and there are large accordion-style leather stretch panels along each side of the torso. I found the sleeve length to be ample and the sleeve ends have a neoprene panel just above the wrist which makes them extremely comfortable when the wrists are flexed back (the position you’d be in when on a bike). In addition there is neoprene on the collar, again for greater comfort. You’ll notice the oversize pocket zippers on the front which adds some unusual style. Open those zippers part way down from the top and you open up vents which are situated behind. And then pull the zippers all the way down and you can reach into some internal pockets for storage. Neat! There are some small perforated panels on the sleeves and in the collar bone area and also in the underarms. These perf areas will admit some air to make the jacket breathe a bit, but I don’t think they’ll admit so much that you are overly cold in the winter. Speaking of winter, the jacket comes with a VERY nice full sleeve thermal liner. It seems to be thicker and of better quality than most we sell. The liner’s sleeve ends have varsity jacket-style cuffs on the ends to keep the wind out. The armor in the jacket is the removable CE type for the shoulders and elbows and there is a simple foam back pad. Overall, I really like this style.
