REV'IT! Airwave 2 Jacket (SOLD OUT)

We put a Medium and XL on our two Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. We generally buy test jackets in a Medium for Huey and an XL for Dewey (41” and 45” chest respectively) assuming these jackets would fit “normally”, and were able to get them on the two mannequins, but it was a very tight fit (click the “View Larger Images” link above to see).

We measured both the max chest and belly of every size in this jacket and we find them to run consistent with many past styles of REVIT jackets… which is to say consistently smaller than what you find with most alpha sized men’s jackets. I’ve put together a chart for you to choose a jacket based upon your chest size (see below). And for most people, that means you’ll have to buy one size larger jacket than you normally wear in men’s clothing. I’d highly recommend you use a tape and measure yourself and then use the chart to choose the correct size.

Once you determine the correct size for you, the fit of the jacket is easy. It’s an easy style with only a slight taper from chest to waist, which means most body types will do just fine with it. We’ve included a waist/belly measurement so you can make sure you are buying a jacket that is large enough for both your chest and belly. Those with a waist that is trimmer than the chart indicates for their chest size can use the adjustment straps to customize the fit with no problem.

Simple styling and design and quality construction would be the quick summary view I’d give for this new summer mesh jacket from REVIT. This is the second version of the Airwave we’ve had from REVIT and functionally the two versions are very similar but the styling has changed a lot. The overall look is still “signature” REVIT but just a bit different.

This jacket comes with CE armor in the shoulders and elbows and the jacket comes with a pocket for the addition of a CE level 2 back protector (see size recommendations below). The jacket shell is mostly mesh but there are solid textile overlays over the shoulders and elbows, down each side of the torso and across the kidney belt area too.

You can pair this jacket with the matching Airwave 2 pants to make an outfit (see link below) and the two connect with the short rear zipper on both the jacket and pant. If you want to use the jacket with other pants, there is a snap-close loop in the back you can attach around your belt. This helps hold the tail of the jacket down at high speed and also helps prevent the jacket from rising above the pant waist if you fall.

So the value proposition here is the quality and styling. If you like the best tailored look and nice looking materials, you’ll like this jacket and think it worth the money. REVIT products are a notch above others in terms of price but the quality and looks are there. :: Paul, 03-08-16
