Arai Cheek Pads - RX-Q Helmets
- Riders will sometimes need to change the cheek pads that come installed in their helmets; some people need a little more or less space, while others simply need to install a fresh set of pads for better comfort (and smell)
- The pads both come out and can be installed quite easily
- This new cheek pad shape extends down lower than on previous helmet models, cradling the lower jaw for a more secure feeling, without additional pressure, while at the same time blocking more wind noise
- Exclusive Emergency Release Tab cheek pad design
- A new cheek pad feature provides a removable 5mm layer of foam from the surface of each pad; this allows a wearer to give themselves a bit more room if desired, without the need to purchase an optional cheek pad set
- Use the chart below to figure out what size cheek pad you currently have based on your helmet size, and then pick a replacement set based on your need.
Sizing Information
Use this table to determine what cheek pad size you currently have.
| Helmet Size | Cheek Pad Size |
|---|---|
| XS | 30mm |
| Small | 30mm |
| Medium | 30mm |
| Large | 25mm |
| XL | 25mm |
| XXL | 25mm |
You can buy the same thickness of cheek pad if you like the fit of your helmet and just need a replacement set. Or you can buy a different thickness cheek pad to adjust fit as all the cheek pads are interchangeable between the different helmet sizes. In addition to the cheek pad thicknesses listed above, there are four optional thicknesses: 15mm, 20mm, 35mm and 40mm.
Changing cheek pads to change the helmet fit: To get MORE room in your helmet, you need to buy a SMALLER cheek pad. To get a TIGHTER fit, you need to buy a LARGER cheek pad. Example: If you have a size Large RX-Q helmet, you have cheek pads that measure 25mm. If the helmet is too tight on you, a 15 or 20mm pad would give you more room.
