Icon Cheek Pads for 2011 and 2012 Alliance Helmets
- Riders will sometimes need to change the cheek pads that come installed in their helmets. Some people need a little more or less space, while others simply need to install a fresh set of pads for better comfort (and smell).
- The pads both come out and can be installed quite easily. Simply slide the pad into the shell and snap the closures into place.
- Use the chart below to figure out what size cheek pad you currently have based on your helmet size, and then pick a replacement set based on your need.
Note: These cheek pads fit the new 2011 and 2012 Alliance Helmets but will not work on Alliance SS, Alliance SSR Helmets or the earlier generation Alliance Helmets
Use the table below to determine what size cheek pads came standard with your helmet:
|Helmet Size||Size Pads That Came In Your Helmet||Description|
|XS||40mm||Fits XS through S Helmets|
|Small||35mm||Fits XS through S Helmets|
|Medium||30mm||Fits Medium Helmets only|
|Large||25mm||Fits Large through XXXL Helmets|
|XL||25mm||Fits Large through XXXL Helmets|
|XXL||20mm||Fits Large through XXXL Helmets|
|XXXL||15mm||Fits Large through XXXL Helmets|
You can buy the same thickness of cheek pad if you like the fit of your helmet and just need a replacement set. Or you can buy a different thickness cheek pad to adjust fit as long as you buy a pad sized to be interchangeable. The description in the table above shows which pad sizes are interchangeable. The cheek pads for the XS and Small helmets are interchangeable; likewise, the cheek pads for the Large, XL, XXL and XXXL helmets are interchangeable. Unfortunately, the Medium helmet only has one pad option, the 30mm.
Changing cheek pads to change the helmet fit: To get MORE room in your helmet, you need to buy a THINNER cheek pad. To get a TIGHTER fit, you need to buy a THICKER cheek pad. Example: If you have a size Large Alliance helmet, you have cheek pads that are 25mm thick. If the helmet is too tight on you, a 20mm pad would give you more room.
