Sizing Information

These Firstgear gloves have a typical “American” fit much like other US based brands of gloves we sell such as Tour Master and Olympia. If you have some experience with buying any of these glove brands, choose the size you normally wear.

Just an FYI, many European brand gloves run just a bit more snug than US brands… about one half size smaller. REVIT, Dainese and Alpinestars are some example brands that run more snug. If you know your size in European brand gloves, you may want to choose one size smaller.

Our Two Cents

The FirstGear Airspeed gloves are a comfortable hot weather glove that is a flow through mesh on the back side of the hand and synthetic leather in the palm. The index finger and thumb tips will operate your cell phone!

These Airspeed gloves feel quite nice on first trying them. They give a bit more coverage over the wrist than most of our short cuff summer gloves. If you’ve ever been on a long daytime ride where your sleeve doesn’t fully cover your wrist, you’ll appreciate a bit more length to the gauntlet to prevent sunburn.

The majority of the back of the hand is mesh material where the palm is made of synthetic leather. Many motorcycle gloves these days are made of synthetic material like this to give longer life and to keep the costs of the gloves reasonable.

As for protection, this glove has a flexible rubber piece attached over the knuckles and there is an impact pad in the heel of the hand and also on the outside of the thumb. The overall protection scheme isn’t bad nor is it great, but for the money, I think it’s pretty good. The gloves are comfortable immediately out of the package, so breaking should be required. :: Paul, 04-09-19

FirstGear says: The Airspeed is engineered to protect without restriction and includes touch-sensitive panels for thumb and index fingertips so you don’t have to take off your glove to operate your phone. The poly stretch mesh construction moves with your hand and the reinforced, padded thumb and palm panels dampen vibrations at the grip, preventing blisters on even the most white-knuckling sections.
