Our Two Cents
Well, hmmmm… the name of this Agadir glove by Held is unfortunately the thing I like best about it. Reminds me of the Agador Spartacus (close enough in spelling) character in the Bird Cage movie. What a hoot! Anyway, back to the gloves. These gloves have internally sewn finger seams and those seams are really bulky especially at the ends of the fingers. Every time I make a fist, my fingernails catch on them which would get sort of maddening. Also, the materials of the gloves only seem “ordinary” in quality to me. Held gloves generally give me a lot more glow than these do. If you want a pair, we’ll sell them to you, but I won’t recommend them to you. Paul :: 03-25-12
Since I wrote my initial review, I received more information about this gloves from our capable US Held distributor Tommy Kincaid. He is quite “sold” on this gloves obvoiusly, and the information about the Kangaroo leather is relevant. My dislike for the look and feel may be born from lack of familiarity of the material’s properties. So in the interest of “equal time”, please consider this: “The Agadir glove is full Kangaroo leather; the only other gloves that use all kangaroo leather are the Titan and Phantom race gloves. Held used Kangaroo leather because they wanted a fully perforated leather summer glove and anything other than Kangaroo leather becomes too weak when perforated this much. If you look close, even the kangaroo palm is micro perforated. The 2 small fingers are double layered, padded, and has Superfabric in these critical crash areas. The other fingers and thumb are absent of padding to allow more air to flow through. About use…the Agadir is a super heavy duty perforated summer glove. The Kangaroo leather will give it good road protection.”
