Sizing Information
Some REV’IT! gloves feel a bit snug as compared to other American brands we carry. I’d say this one runs only slightly small, so I’d advise you to choose the size you normally wear in gloves. If you are between sizes, then choose larger. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.
Our Two Cents
I’m reviewing two new REV’IT! gloves today… the Centaur and the Oceanus glove. Both are very similar and the overriding feature of either glove is the use of Gore-Tex as the waterproof breathable membrane. Gore-Tex is not a cheap material and it is famous for its performance in sports gear as the best material to keep you dry but also breathe, which of course is important in any sport where you exert yourself some and perspire (even when it is cold out). Nobody likes clammy gloves! The Centaur is made primarily for your everyday street rider. It is a high quality glove made with a combination of textile fabrics and goatskin (primarily in the palm). The goat provides the abrasion protection you need in case of a fall. The gloves have padding reinforcements in impact prone areas, such as over the knuckles and in the heel of the hand. I’d describe the overall armor treatment as “moderate” and certainly suitable for everyday street use. The insides of the gloves are soft and plushy and the gloves are moderately insulated. Not too “puffy” but not thin either… I think most folks will like the level of insulation. The gloves have a positive acting Velcro strap at the wrist to keep your gloves on in case of a fall, and the gauntlet is adjustable also so you can make these work with your jacket sleeve type and size. The side of the forefinger and thumb are covered in a soft suede-like material that can be used as a wiper. The gloves have some “grippy” material in the palms and are stitched in with red thread…. which is functional to help with grip and also looks neat. . Overall, I think these gloves offer a lot of value… they aren’t terribly expensive but they offer the Gore-Tex membrane. :: 09-20-13
