Sizing Information

These gloves are consistent with the major American based brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, etc, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

Just as an FYI, you may have previous experience with European designed brands such as Alpinestars and REV’IT! which run about one half size smaller, size-for-size, than the American brands. It is not a universally true fact, but generally holds for most styles. So if a particular size in either of those brands is roomy on you, then you may be able to go down one full size in this style.

Our Two Cents

Klim’s Vanguard GTX Long gloves are a good looking and comfortable glove for cooler weather riding and wet weather riding. These gloves have an “under cuff” design aimed at street and touring riders.

Gore Grip technology is a specific kind of GoreTex liner made for gloves mostly. The waterproof membrane is thin and is bonded to the inside of the glove’s shell so that it is barely noticeable and it makes for a glove that give good grip. Another nice touch for riding in rain is the built in visor wiper on the left index finger.

So the GoreTex liner makes this glove waterproof and then it has a moderate layer of insulation for use in cooler temps. The insulation is on the back side of the hand and the palm is not insulated. Many motorcycle riders like the idea of a thinner palm to make the glove work better with the controls. And it works especially well if you have heated grips.

The cuff design of this glove fits close to the wrist so you can wear these gloves under the jacket sleeve. Some long cuff gloves have a larger gauntlet designed to go OVER the sleeve which works well for more sport oriented jacket, but this glove is set up primarily for street and touring riders. The crash protection with this glove is better than with most. It has a substantial knuckle protector and has some memory foam in the heel of the hand. At the wrist is a sturdy Velcro-close strap to make sure the gloves stay on your wrist in case of a fall.

I think these gloves are a great product for the money. Most GoreTex gloves are more money and even those these are value priced, they are still a quality Klim product. :: Paul, 11-11-19
