Sizing Information

These gloves are consistent with the major American based brands we carry such as FirstGear, Tour Master, etc, so hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

Just as an FYI, you may have previous experience with European designed brands such as Alpinestars and REV’IT! which run about one half size smaller, size-for-size, than the American brands. It is not a universally true fact, but generally holds for most styles. So if a particular size in either of those brands is roomy on you, then you may be able to go down one full size in this style.

Our Two Cents

Klim Badlands GTX are the best winter gloves Klim makes with regard to warmth, water proofing, and protection.

Most of the winter gloves we sell have what I call “moderate” thickness of insulation, but these gloves are thicker than “moderate”, and being a leather shell and waterproof, they’ll wind block very well too. So for a glove that will keep your hands warm in the winter, these are among the best (aside from heated gloves, that is).

Gore-Grip is is the type of waterproof technology used in these gloves. It is similar to standard Gore-Tex, but instead of the waterproofing layer being a separate layer in the glove’s construction, the waterproofing layer is actually bonded to the inside of the shell. It makes the glove more compact, but also gives better feel for controls since there isn’t a separate additional loose layer between your hands and the grips (hence the name… better grip). As waterproofing technology goes, this is the best class of technology.

With regard to protection, this glove has better crash protection than most insulated gloves. Many insulated don’t have much of anything, but this glove has features found on some race gloves. For example, there is a VERY robust hard knuckle protector and also a very firm pad in the palm of the hand. Those armor pieces are covered in an abrasion resistant material so they’ll hold up better than many materials in case of friction against the pavement. Another important safety feature found here is a very sturdy Velcro-close strap at the wrist to hold the gloves on the hand in case of a fall.

The cuff of this glove is adjustable so you can wear it under or over a jacket sleeve. Just behind the wrist is an elastic cuff to keep the wind out. Another wet weather feature is the integral visor wiper on the left and right index fingers. The left one is black rubber like a standard windshield wiper. The right one is a harder white colored rubber for ice and snow. Having a snow/ice wiper is something I’ve never seen before!
