Sizing Information

Like most Alpinestars gloves, these gloves ran a bit smaller than most glove brands we carry. They are not a lot small and most people can choose the size they normally wear in gloves (especially if a snug fit is preferred). If you are sometimes between sizes, then choose the larger of the two. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. Our Two Cents

I just counted, and as of this writing, we offer 18 different models of Alpinestars waterproof/insulated gloves. Good grief! So in celebration of the diversity in styles, I’m going to tell you what I see different here as well as touch on a few common features.

So what’s different than all the other Alpinestars waterproof gloves? This one is the only leather gauntlet style that is not so “sporty” with the hard knuckle armor and all. This glove has a bit of raised padding on the back of the hand and fingers and also in the palm area, but it is monochrome and offers subdued styling. The packaging says, “City and Lifestyle” which could mean just about anything other than this country boy’s existence, but I take that to mean that these gloves are a bit less sport and a bit more dressy than most. They really don’t look much different than lightly insulated dress gloves to me.

The leather is soft and comfy and without the hard armor, they’ll pack away easily. In addition to the raised padding I mentioned above, the gloves also have an overlay of extra material in the palm and on the side of the pinkie. The gloves are held firmly in place with a Velcro-close wrist strap which is important for safety so the gloves don’t fly off if you crash.

I’d characterize the insulation thickness as “moderate” and the insulation is only on the back of the hand. The palm side is not insulated to give you better feel for the controls. :: Paul, 08-13-15
