Our Two Cents
The Hell ‘N Back ST jacket from Speed and Strength is aptly named, as it’s loaded with features that will keep you comfortable in just about any riding conditions you might encounter. Probably the “coolest” feature of this jacket is the Syncro Ventilation System. Not only does this jacket have two large chest vents, two bicep vents, and three rear exhaust vents, the sleeves convert from regular textile to mesh with a simple zipper attachment. This should provide a tremendous amount of airflow (for a textile jacket) to keep you cool on hot days. Another really great feature that is especially good for hot weather is the included hydration pack. Similar to a CamelBak® system, this jacket has a built in pocket to hold the included 1.5L reservoir to keep you hydrated on those longer rides. The drinking tube is passed through a rubber grommet in the back of the jacket and clips into place over the shoulder so that a drink is always within reach. The Hell ‘N Back is also very well equipped for cold and wet rides, too. A waterproof breathable liner (which is removable) works in conjunction with the waterproof outer zippers to keep you nice and dry, and a second insulated vest type liner can be added for warmth on cold days. This two-liner combination can also be worn as a separate light jacket/windbreaker which can help to reduce how much you pack for long trips. Other comfort features include microfiber lined areas at the wrists and neck, snap sleeve take ups, adjustable sleeve cuffs, a Velcro waist adjustment belt and side expansion zippers. For protection the Hell ‘N Back has a dual density foam back pad, CE approved armor in the elbows and shoulders, as well as external molded shoulder protectors. This jacket has a ton of features, so be sure to check out our detailed photos by clicking the “View Larger Pictures” link above.
