Our Two Cents

The Corsair 2.0 has a different feel and look than most textile jackets. The material used is a heavy stretch textile material. It has a sleek finish kind of like seat belt material, but the stretch characteristics remind me of neoprene. Fieldsheer says it has 90% of the strength of leather and superior abrasion resistance over standard textiles and based on seeing it, I wouldn’t disagree. And the stretch characteristic also gives the jacket a nice tailored look. The women’s version is cut to suit the female form. Carboflex® is also a very breathable material which means this jacket will work well in warmer temperatures, and a zip-out liner is included for when the weather turns cooler. The liner does not have any insulation, but it will stop wind and rain and is also made of a flexible material to keep you comfortable. One really neat feature of the liner is it can actually be worn on its own as a separate jacket/windbreaker. This is especially great for touring as it cuts down on what you need to bring with you, saving precious cargo room for other items.
