Sizing Information

This jacket is sold in alpha sizes. You can go here for a conversion chart if you know your chest size. We recommend you measure your chest and belly to make sure you are selecting a jacket big enough to accommodate both. The belly size in this jacket will be about 6” less than the chest size (for example, a 46 jacket will have a max belly of about 40”).

Our Two Cents

Wow, an armored textile jacket at this price? Yes, you are seeing that right. The Slip On Jacket from Fieldsheer is a great choice for those who want a simple jacket that will provide protection without breaking the bank. The protective features of this jacket include CE approved armor for the shoulders and elbows, as well as the SP Memory Foam® back pad. The 600D Carbolex® textile material isn’t especially thick, but is designed with strength and abrasion resistance in mind. The inside of this jacket is lined with a mesh material which will keep you comfortable, and I also like the fact that this jacket isn’t heavy or bulky. There are Velcro adjustments for the waist, and Velcro closures at the wrists. Two hand warmer pockets, a document pocket, and four internal pockets are included for carrying whatever you need. This jacket will be better suited for milder climates and temperatures as there is no climate control whatsoever (although you could layer some additional clothing underneath in cooler temps). Also, if you get caught in the rain, you’re going to get wet – no rain liner in this jacket. But, for the price, it offers the protection you need when you ride, which is the most important feature of any riding jacket. I would prefer to wear jeans, but I know you have to dress for the fall, not the ride. Especially riding with my sons, we need something better than denim. I have a pair of overpants, but got the Cortech Cargo pants cuz they were a compromise between jeans and the overpants. (Read more...)
