Sizing Information
This jacket is sold in alpha sizes so most people can choose the size they normally wear in men’s clothing. You can also go here for a conversion chart to see chest size conversions for each alpha size. If you measure yourself, we recommend you measure your chest AND belly to make sure you are selecting a jacket big enough to accommodate both. The belly size in this jacket will be about 6” less than the chest size. For example, and XL jacket will accommodate a 46” chest and will have a max belly of about 40”.
The overall cut of this style is more snug than most (because the material used is somewhat stretchy as discussed below). If you are between sizes and/or don’t like snug fitting clothing, then consider going up in size.
Our Two Cents
The Corsair 2.0 has a different feel and look than most textile jackets. The material used is a heavy stretch textile material. It has a sleek finish kind of like seat belt material, but the stretch characteristics remind me of neoprene. Fieldsheer says it has 90% of the strength of leather and superior abrasion resistance over standard textiles and based on seeing it, I wouldn’t disagree. And the stretch characteristic also gives the jacket a nice tailored look. Carboflex® is also very breathable material which means this jacket will work well in warmer temperatures, and a zip-out liner is included for when the weather turns cooler. The liner does not have any insulation, but it will stop wind and rain and is also made of a flexible material to keep you comfortable. One really neat feature of the liner is it can actually be worn on its own as a separate jacket/windbreaker. This is especially great for touring as it cuts down on what you need to bring with you, saving precious cargo room for other items.
