Sizing Information

The overall fit of this jacket will work for the “average build”, so choose a size based upon what you usually wear in men’s jackets/shirts. Cortech marks the various size jackets with the following chest sizes:
XS 38
Small 40
Medium 42
Large 44
XL 46
XXL 48
XXXL 50
XXXXL 52

These chest sizes seem appropriate, so you can use your suit coat size or chest measurement to double check. You’ll want to check your belly also and make sure that your belly does not exceed 4” less than the chest size above (example, XL/46 will handle a max belly of about 42”).

Our Two Cents

The Drax jacket offers the features you’ll find on many of the Tour Master/Cortech jackets, but they’ve added unique styling to this jacket to set it apart. Be sure to click the “View Larger Pictures” link above and take a look at the photos of the back—-pretty wild! Along with the styling of the shoulders, it gives the jacket sort of an Oriental look. The white piping on the shoulders is reflective, so this jacket will really stand out at night. You get two front hand warmer pockets and one inside vertical chest pocket for storage. For crash protection you get CE rated “GP” hard-plastic-over-foam type armor in the shoulders and elbows and a foam back protector. And for climate control… there is a removable full sleeve insulated liner which can be used for insulation in cold weather. The jacket has extensive zippered venting on the front and rear, but the inside jacket lining is the “waterproof” barrier in this jacket, so being a solid material, it will not allow air to pass through from the zippered vents to your skin. The air coming in the vents will pass between the outer shell and the inside lining and provide some cooling, but it won’t be the same as other vented jackets where the air comes all the way through the inner lining (usually nylon mesh) and passes over your skin. The upside to this kind of design though is that the waterproof capabilities of the jacket are greater than with jackets that have zippered vents that pass all the way through the jacket. Those jackets have flaps and waterproof zippers and such but are prone to leakage. Anyway, consider this jacket to be a great choice for cold to mild weather and wet conditions, but when it gets hot, you’ll be coming back to buy a mesh style :)
