Sizing Information

We checked the fit on this jacket and we feel it runs true to size. Therefore we recommend you buy the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If you want to use a chest measurement to choose a size, please go here for a fit chart that shows the max chest for each alpha size.

If you have a bit of a belly, you can check to make sure the size you choose will work with your belly size as well. The max belly size for any one of these jackets can be determined by subtracting about 6” from the listed chest size for each jacket. For example an XL jacket has a max chest of about 46” and so the max belly for that size would be about 40”. If you are at or below 40, it will work fine. If not, you’ll have to choose a larger size.

Our Two Cents

Here is a MotorcycleGear.com exclusive deal! Get the Prodigy mesh jacket now at a closeout price. We bought all remaining US inventory so take advantage while the inventory remains. Our previous product review: The Prodigy Mesh Jacket is a nice warm weather alternative to a regular textile or leather jacket. The mesh material allows plenty of air flow to keep you cool during those summer months. One concern people have with mesh jackets is the abrasion resistance of the mesh material. In just handling this jacket, I think it would do a very good job with abrasion protection. The mesh material is sturdy feeling and there are overlays of solid textile material in key crash areas (you can see these in our close-up pictures). In addition to the materials used, the Prodigy Jacket features removable CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows, and an SP Memory Foam® back pad for impact protection. Velcro wrist closures and waist adjustment allow some room for fit adjustment. If the weather turns wet there is a Rainblocker liner which can be installed which should do a good job keeping you dry and blocking the wind – but it won’t provide any insulation (think of it as a very thin windbreaker). As far as pockets go, there are two waterproof pockets inside the jacket, handy for keeping things (like a cell phone) protected from the elements. Along with these two, there is a zippered document pocket and two additional pockets on the jacket interior (tip: with the liner in use you’ll need to unzip the liner partway to gain access). There are two zippered hand warmer pockets on the front of the jacket. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see some good close up photos of this jacket’s features.

I'm generally happy with this jacket. It's lightweight but feels substantial enough to protect, the inner liner you get is easy to wear without fastening to the inside (which is the way I usually do these removable liner jackets to ease transitio... (Read more...)
