Sizing Information

Here is AGV’s chart for race suits. If you compare the suit size to the max chest size listed, you will see that they run small as compared to most suits, which means you will have to buy one size larger than normal.

For this one last size 46 we have left, the max chest is about 44” and the max belly is about 36”.

Size Chest (in) Waist (in) Sleeve (in) Inseam (in)
42 41-42 34.5-35.5 25 32
44 42-43 36-37 25.5 32.5
46 44-45 37.5-38.5 26 32.5
48 46-47 39-40 26 33
50 47.5-48.5 41-42 26.5 33.5

Our Two Cents

There are just a few of these suits left. We sold a ton of these suits last fall and this spring on closeout and our distributor recently found one more small group in the their warehouse. Enjoy the savings! The AGV Sport Monza race suit is a good looking, well made suit that would be at home on the track or on the street. The Monza is constructed with 1.2mm leather in the body for reduced weight and increased mobility, while the impact areas get 1.4mm leather for added strength. The Monza has plenty of protective features. CE armor is found at the shoulders, elbows and knees, while the back and hips are protected by memory foam pads. In addition, there is built in padding at the tailbone and at the front of the torso (although these “ab pads” may be more for looks). External titanium armor is also found at the shoulders, which adds to the overall sporty look of the suit. There is also an aerodynamic speed hump on the back of the Monza suit. Not only does this help improve airflow at high speeds, it also helps to prevent neck injuries in a fall. The back hump creates a bridge between the back of the helmet and your back, preventing the neck from being wrenched forward in a crash. The Monza suit features a removable mesh liner which makes cleaning the suit easy, and the shoulder armor, back pad, and hip pads are all removable. The elbow and knee armor in the Monza suit are actually sewn to the leather in the suit, so they aren’t removable. The advantage to this in a race suit is the armor is much more likely to stay where it is supposed to in a crash. For comfort, the Monza has accordion style stretch panels at the lower back and hips, above the knees, behind the elbows and behind the shoulders. There is also Teramid Kevlar stretch material at the inner arms, at the crotch, and down the back of the legs. Some suits have this type of material in the crotch area, but the lower legs have a thinner stretch material that doesn’t feel like it would do much in a crash, whereas the Monza gets the Kevlar treatment all the way down the back of the leg. This material is a lot more comfortable than leather at the joints, as it is more flexible and doesn’t bunch up. The sleeve cuffs and lower legs have zippers to make getting the suit on and off easier, and the collar is lined with a neoprene like material for comfort. For hot days at the track, the Monza suit is perforated in the torso, the upper thighs, and the shoulders on the front of the suit. At the back there are some small perforated areas at the lower back, as well as zippered exhaust vents to let hot air escape. We have taken photos of these features here in our studio, so be sure to click the “View Larger Images” link above to see those.

Here is some additional info supplied to us by our distributor, Motonation, at the time we bought this closeout (Aug/12). This is information they used for marketing as a result of a favorable review on this suit:

This is Motonation’s interpretation of a review from Trackdaymag.com : Trackdaymag.com had previously tested the AGV Sport Laguna one piece leather suit and wrote nothing but rave reviews. So when they tested the AGVSPORT Monza one piece suit, the midlevel leather race suit had some big shoes to fill. Instead of comparing the Monza to other suits in the $800 dollar price range, Trackdaymag.com instead opted to compare it to the Laguna. They were certainly curious to find out where the $200 price difference would come from. However, they struggled to find the differences. In terms of protection, it was hard to even tell one from the other.) The AGV Sport Monza race suit was designed with 1.4mm-1.6mm thick leather, and includes a removable and washable liner inside. As with the Laguna, the Monza suit boasts remarkable stitching that makes it nearly impossible to wear through the seams in a crash. In terms of comfort, the Monza one piece suit is on par with the Laguna. Pleaded leather panels and Teramid Kevlar are used to ensure the suit conforms well to the rider’s body. Similar to the majority of AGVSPORT products the arms are also pre-curved on the Monza leather suit for a comfortable fit right off the rack. Trackdaymag.com declared the Monza a great bargain. It mimics the Laguna in terms of exceptional design, price, and material. This suit looks far more expensive than it is, so if you want a product that rivals a $1200 suit, but your wallets currently on the light side- the AGVSPORT Monza one piece leather suit is for you.
