Sizing Information

Here is the sized chart provided by Tour Master for this jacket:

Alpha Size Dress Size Chest Size Sleeve Length
XS 6-8 33” 23”
Small 8-10 35” 23.5”
Medium 10-12 37” 24”
Large 12-14 39” 24.5”
XL 14-16 41” 25”

We checked the fit of this jacket and found it to run true to the sizing chart. For the fit test, Laverne and Shirley are standard size 6 and 12 respectively and they are wearing sizes XS and Large. As you can see the fit is slightly roomy but comfortable. Since they are at the bottom of the size range for the jackets they are wearing, a bit of room makes sense. For a more snug fit, you can choose the smaller of the two size choices for each dress size. Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see how our test subjects look in their jackets.

Our Two Cents

This is a great deal you’ll find only at MotorcycleGear.com! We bought the remaining US inventory in this model. Original MSRP on this jacket was $224.99, and then during the recession, Tour Master dropped it to $179.99 to make the pricing for competitive. But now, on final closeout with us, the price is MUCH less and a very good value. Our comments on the jacket: The Flex 2 is Tour Master’s second generation of their fully convertible sport riding jacket. A convertible jacket will work well for a full range of weather conditions. It converts from a traditional textile jacket design to a full mesh jacket in seconds so the Flex 2 is essentially two jackets in one. In color and/or wet conditions, you’d use the jacket with the outer textile shell in place (like you see in the picture above). The outer shell provides a wind barrier and along with the removable thermal liner will provide warmth and moderate protection against water (this jacket is advertised as having a “water resistant” shell, but not waterproof). For more moderate temperatures, you’d still use the textile shell but remove the the thermal liner. And for hot dry weather, you’d run without solid textile outer panel which essentially converts the Flex 2 to a very nice full mesh jacket. Some of the pockets, adjusters, etc that are within reach with the outer shell in place are replicated on the inner mesh jacket so you still have all the conveniences in either configuration. For crash protection CE approved armor is included in the shoulders and elbows. You also get a removable triple density back pad. Use the jacket’s rear zipper for attachment to Tour Master/Cortech riding pants. Pictures are worth a thousand words and for this jacket, you’ll want to take a look at our full photo spread to appreciate all you get with this design.
