Sizing Information

Hmmmm… fit on this model is a little tricky. This jacket offers a substantial removable liner (consists of a windproof shell and an insulated inner-liner), so naturally the jacket fits tighter with the liner installed. The overall fit of the jacket with the liners installed is pretty close to the indicated size of the jacket (and maybe a bit on the big side), but with the liners removed, the jacket fits about one size larger than the size would indicate as shown below. Tall sizes are approximately 2” taller in the sleeve and torso. Sleeve lengths listed are from the shoulder seam to the end of the arm cuff.
Marked Size Fit Without Liners In Jacket Sleeve Length
XS/38 40 25.5
Small/40 42 26
Medium/42 44 26.5
Large/44 46 27
XL/46 48 27.5
XXL/48 50 28
XXXL/50 52 28
XXXXL/52 54 28.5

My thinking is that most people will use this jacket without the liners or just with the windproof liner. The part that adds the bulk is the insulated liner and will be used least often. If you agree that you’d typically wear the jacket without the thermal liner, I’d suggest you buy one size smaller than normal. If you are often between sizes, then choose the smaller of the two.

Our Two Cents

The Intake 2 jacket was built with the intention of multi-season use. The outer shell of the jacket is a loose weave mesh material that will work great for hot summertime rides, and that will be your primary mode of operation. The jacket also comes with two removable liners… a thermal liner to keep you warm and a windproof liner to keep you dry and block the wind. The use of these liners will allow you to use the jacket in a variety of weather conditions from cool to hot and even wet. We found that the jacket works well with the thermal liner OR the rain liner, but not both because just isn’t quite enough room inside the sleeves with both liners in place (those with thin arms may be OK with this though). That being said, this is still a great mesh jacket. The jacket comes equipped with removable CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows, and a removable triple-density back protector. To account for the varying fit of the jacket with the liners installed or removed the jacket comes with a good deal of adjustment. The waist, sleeves and cuffs all have adjustment so you can fine tune the fit. There is a rear connection zipper in the jacket for attachment to Tour Master pants. The zipper also comes with the mating half that can be sewn into the pants of your choice. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see some good close-ups of this jacket and its features.

I decided to get a hi-viz jacket after an accident where the truck "didn't see me." And this thing is awesome, and awesomely BRIGHT!! Even though it's mesh, the included dual-liner system works great in chilly and damp weather down to about 40f. T... (Read more...)

Tour Master Venture Pants were a good purchase too. Appear to be well made no problems here. I wear 36 waist and 32 length slacks and jeans. (Read more...)
