Sizing Information

The sizing of TCX boots remains consistent, and we feel the length conversion is consistent with TCX’s published size conversion chart. The general width would be “normal” which is D or possibly E. To compare, I’d say the overall fit is somewhere between a Sidi boot which is generally pretty trim and an Alpinestars boot which runs more wide. Please click here to see the TCX size chart.

Our Two Cents

This boot really has everything you’ll be looking for in a quality race boot style. Most entry level boots will have the basics, like a hard shin protector, reinforcements around the heel, a reinforced toe box, toe sliders and a protector over the toe where the shifter makes contact. This is a premium boot and you get extras such as a “Torsion Control System” which consists of the molded plastic parts on the back and sides of the ankle. Those reinforcements are designed to allow for flex front to back so you can shift and brake and of course walk more easily, but limit side-to-side motions that can cause ankle damage.

The sole of the boot is thin to allow for a low profile, but stiffened so the boots will not bend when you bear weight on the pegs. The sole is also a multi-colored affair which adds to the overall styling. Entry/exit from the boot is easy with a traditional side zipper with the Velcro flap over the zipper. That flap, BTW has an embossed patch of suede to give some friction with the bike’s side parts to help you grip and control.

Overall, a great value in a race boot and one you’ll want to purchase sooner rather than later because sizes and color choices will disappear quickly. :: Paul, 04-14-15

I tried on my new TCX boots one day and rode for 2 straight hours in an endurance race the next day. I practically forgot they were on my feet and that's what you want in a race because if you're thinking about your gear you're not thinking about... (Read more...)
