Our Two Cents

To get the idea of this jacket, just think “simple textile jacket with a hoodie for some insulation when needed”. My first reaction when I saw “Run With the Bulls” on the list of new styles from Speed and Strength was, “Oh, we’ve reached a new high in dumb names”, which I still think is true, but after seeing this one and trying it on, I like it despite the dumb name. The hoodie is actually a good idea and I always like a jacket or pants that incorporates an article of clothing that can be worn off the bike as well. The outer shell of the jacket is typical: storage pockets, zippered vents, sharp styling, etc. For cooler weather, the hoodie zips in as an attached liner. The sleeves of the hoodie are extra long and have thumb holes to help you push it through the sleeves of the jacket easily (a nice handy feature). The jacket includes armor from Knox USA, which is CE approved for the shoulders, elbows, AND back. The spine pad is very substantial and feels like it would do a very good job protecting your back from impacts. The jacket has zippered bicep vents, as well as zippered vents on the front and back of the torso. While the Run with the Bulls jacket does not have a dedicated rain liner, the outer shell is water resistant and should keep you dry for brief encounters with rain. The benefit of NOT having the waterproof lining is the jacket won’t be as hot during the summer months. Take the “View Larger Images” link above to see the features and the hoodie being worn separately. And tell the bulls I said hello!
