Our Two Cents
The Off the Chain textile jacket combines the comfort of a hooded sweatshirt with the protection of a textile riding jacket. The hoodie zips in as an attached liner for cold weather rides, and can be worn separately when off the bike too. It has some graphics on the hood for some street style, and two front pockets to carry your things. The actual jacket itself is highly functional as well. An AR-800 frame is slightly heavier weight than other similar jackets, but it’s the included armor that is really impressive. The Off the Chain jacket incorporates armor from Knox USA, which is CE approved for the shoulders, elbows, AND back. The spine pad is very substantial and feels like it would do a very good job protecting your back from impacts. Climate control features include zippered bicep vents, as well as zippered vents on the front and back of the torso. While the Off the Chain jacket does not have a dedicated rain liner, the outer shell is water resistant and should keep you dry for brief encounters with rain. The benefit of not having the waterproof lining is the jacket won’t be as hot during the summer months. We have taken several pictures of this jacket here in our studio, so be sure to click the “View Larger Images” link above.
