Sizing Information

In evaluating the fit of this vest, it really depends upon what you think you will use it for. We found the fit of the vest to be about right if you were wearing it over a tee shirt (not recommended on a bike, but just for the purposes of checking fit), but when zipped on over a riding jacket it is pretty snug. If your jacket has a pretty trim fit and you want the vest to fit trim also, then you can go with the same size as the jacket (or what you normally wear in men’s clothing), but if your riding jacket is a more relaxed style and/or it has some bulk because of a liner, etc, then buy one size larger.

Our Two Cents

The REV’IT! Athos vest is designed so that you can wear this over protective clothing to increase your visibility in the day or at night. A lot of riding gear is fairly tame in styling… and actually a lot of it is either grey or black, none of which is particularly visible. So if you own gear like this and you want to be seen, then this Athos vest would be just the thing. It’s a mostly mesh style to permit air to flow through, so it won’t hinder the function of a mesh style much if your intent is to use it in summer. As you can see from the pictures, the day time visibility is there by virtue of the tennis ball color, but there are also LARGE strips of reflective material so you can be seen at night as well. Take the “Images” link above and you’ll see some night shots we took in our studio to show off how well that works. When not in use, the vest stores in its own nifty stuff sack. Neat! A really great product for safety and worth the money. If it’s working, you’ll never know it. :: Paul, 03-08-13
