Our Two Cents

The Joe Rocket Denim/Kevlar Rocket Jeans are a combination of traditional jean styling with some built in abrasion and impact protection for motorcyclists. The fit of the jeans is pretty standard and I think most people would feel completely comfortable wearing these jeans on or off the bike. The jeans come with a layer of abrasion resistant material built into the seat and knees. Thankfully these areas are also lined with a soft cotton material so the tougher material is not scratchy against the skin. The problem I see with these jeans is the placement of the knee armor. I’m a pretty “standard” guy and when I stand in the jeans, the knee armor falls about 3” below where it should, so that it more or less is covering the shin. When in a sitting position, it naturally is drawn up on the leg and gets closer to the right position, but it’s still off. Joe Rocket has built a dual position type pocket so you can adjust the height of the armor, but the problem is that the armor, which I tried on the jeans, was already in the upper-most position. Please see the picture I included in the photo gallery which shows the position of the armor when standing and you will see what I mean. I’d recommend these jeans for those who would want to wear them without the armor in the pocket, but if you want the armor you’d better choose a different style of pant.

Note on Pictures: We took close-up photos of the jeans in a Dark Denim color which is no longer available, but the photos clearly show the jean’s features so we left them in our photo gallery for you to view.

These jeans from Joe Rocket offer much better protection than normal jeans. New Enough was right about the CE armor falling below the knee. Other than that, the jeans are comfortable and look great. (Read more...)

Super comfortable jeans! You don't have to look like a "biker" to feel protected. These Joe Rocket kevlar-lined denims are also great for everyday wear.
