Our Two Cents

The Akira-Evo gloves from Held are a serious sport/touring glove that could do double duty as an occasional track day glove. It has the kangaroo leather palm that many high-end race gloves have and is reinforced with SuperFabric® on the fingers and side of the hand as well as over the carbon/GRP knuckle protectors. The SuperFabric is a really tough and thick feeling material and I’m sure it would do a great job with abrasion protection. It may also be welcome to those of you who might be a bit squeamish about the use of Stingray hide for the same purpose (some of Held’s other high-end styles use Stingray). There is Suprotect® shock-absorbing foam on the back of the hand and at the ball of the thumb for additional impact protection. Velcro straps at the wrist and the long gauntlet cuff ensure the gloves stay on your hand in the event of a crash. Our general manager Daniel is modeling these for us and he commented on how comfortable they were right out of the package. Held is known for their quality and attention to detail and these are no exception. We’ve taken several closeup pictures in our studio, be sure to take the “View Larger Images” link above to check them out.
