Sizing Information

These jackets are sold in “alpha” sizes. FirstGear offers sizing information for this product which is very typical for any brand jacket as follows:

Size S M L XL 2XL 3XL 4XL
Max Chest 34-36 38-40 42-44 46-48 50-52 54-56 58-60
Max Waist 28-30 32-34 36-38 40-42 44-46 48-50 52-54

We found these jackets to consistently run large as compared to the sizing information that is given by FirstGear. Our model in this picture would normally wear a medium and this medium jacket was large overall. We recommend that you buy one size smaller than you would normally wear. The overall cut of these jackets will work best for people of average height or taller and those who have average to stocky builds. The sleeve length is very generous. Those who are very thin or those who have short arms probably won’t like the fit.

Tall sizes: FirstGear offers this jacket in talls, which provides a rarely found option for tall people. The body and sleeves of the jackets are 1 1/2 to 2 inches taller than the “standard” cut jackets. If you normally have to buy “talls” then these should work for you.

Our Two Cents

This is another exclusive final closeout deal from We bought all remaining US inventory and we are offering these jackets at a great price: Our previous comments on this style jacket: The Venture AT jacket offers a combination textile/mesh shell. It has more storage room than typical waist length jackets and the overall cut is roomy, so adventure/touring riders (hence the name) and commuters will appreciate those things. We recommend this jacket for warm to mild temperatures, but not cold weather. Let’s start with the climate control… This jacket is made from about half textile and half polyester mesh that will allow for continuous airflow to keep you cool. And for wet weather use, the jacket comes with something that is rather unique; there is an outer rain shell that fits over the jacket and stores conveniently in the rear pouch. The quality of the rain shell is like a typical rain suit jacket, it’s not the best quality, but it is convenient and functional for occasional emergency use. This jacket does not come with a thermal liner, so for cold weather, you’ll need to layer underneathl. As far as storage goes, this jacket has tons of space to keep you organized. There are two flap pockets that cover the length of the torso, two standard sized flap pockets, and two large zippered pockets. Inside the jacket… there is a secure phone pocket, a large patch pocket, and an internal document pocket. In the back you have a rear pouch to hold your outer rain shell. For protection, there is removable CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows, plus there is a removable EVA dense foam back pad. Reflective piping has also been sewn into the arm seams and across the back for increased night visibility. For a closer look, check out the “View Larger Pictures” tour above.
