Sizing Information
This jacket is sold in men’s “alpha” jacket sizing so you can choose the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. To choose a size based upon measurements, please have a look at Fieldsheer’s sizing charts. We feel the sizing chart is a good representation of how this item fits. The overall cut of this style is not as tapered (from chest to waist) as other sport jackets. It will be great for those who have a “boxy” shape, but for the skinny or those with a wide chest and relatively slim waist, the cut will be very loose in the lower torso.
Our Two Cents
Hmmmm…, well personally, I’ve never been all that big of a fan of jackets that convert from a solid shell to a mesh. Most designs have a lot of zippers and removable textile (or leather) sections, which all seems a bit over-engineered to me. And then when you are on a road trip, you have to make sure you keep up with all the removed pieces when they’re not in use. This particular jacket by Fieldsheer offers the positive aspects of a convertible style (wide comfort range) at a very good value price. The overall cut of the jacket though was pretty “boxy” (see my comments above), and I found the jacket, with the textile shell removed, to feel pretty unsubstantial. Also, the textile material used in the shell is very wrinkled looking right out of the box. So the loose fit and wrinkled material gives the whole package sort of a disheveled look. But really, that is just my personal impression, and if you have seen one of these jackets and think it suits your purposes, then we are glad to sell it to you. Rather than describe the convertible functionality and the other features, I think the close-up pictures we took of the jacket would do a better job of giving you the idea. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above. We took a whopping 21 pictures of this jacket!
