Our Two Cents
The FSX Series 2 jacket offers sharp styling and very good convenience features for street or touring riders. The price is good too! For crash protection you get CE “GP” type armor in the shoulders and elbows and a foam back protector. The shoulders and elbows are covered with a more abrasion resistant nylon material to enhance protection. As a convenience for street riders and commuters, you get two front hand warmer pockets, one vertical inside document pocket and three inside patch pockets which are ideal for electronics. This is an all-textile rainproof style with venting and a removable thermal liner which will work well for a variety of climates and weather conditions. The jacket is made rainproof by using a waterproof/breathable mid-liner. This mid-liner is located between the jacket’s outer shell and the inside nylon liner, so you can’t really see it, but it provides about as effective waterproofing as can be built into a motorcycle jacket because there are no openings (zippers, snaps, etc) that pass through the liner. The only downside to the mid-liner is that air cannot pass through the various vents in the jacket’s shell all the way through to your skin, so the jacket’s zippered venting won’t be quite as effective as jackets without a mid-liner. But speaking of venting, there are zippers on the shoulders, in the biceps, and there are also two rear exhaust vents. The four vents in front are the kind that can be positioned so that they “scoop” air and and they do a really nice job. For cold weather comfort, the jacket comes with a removable full sleeve thermal liner which looks like it would do a very good job at keeping you warm.
