Sizing Information

Many Alpinestars gloves run a bit snug as compared to other major brands we carry and this model seems to follow that trend also. I wouldn’t say it is enough to advise you to buy a size bigger than normal, especially if you prefer a snug fit, but if you find yourself between sizes, then you’ll definitely want to choose the larger. Our Two Cents

The SP-X glove is a “mid-level” street glove that offers a good combination of style, protection, comfort and will work well in warmer weather. The gloves are made of a variety of materials and some of the glove is a mesh-sort of material so they will flow some air. Other materials are light and fit well, so they aren’t bulky. This 3/4 length style is a nice compromise between a race gauntlet glove and the average short-cuff street glove. The glove has some padding on the short gauntlet providing some protection to the wrist. There is a molded knuckle protector and carbon fiber sliders on the palm as well. The palm of the hand is reinforced with a synthetic suede material that offers additional abrasion protection and a superior grip. Overall the glove is very light weight and will be a street rider’s friend in the summer time. One pan however… the Velcro close tab on the wrist is a bit short and doesn’t fully engage the female patch of Velcro on the glove. They work, but it would have been nice if they had made the tab about 3/4” longer. I’m just mentioning this in case you get them and think there might have been a manufacturing mistake. Not so… the sample we used in the photos was like this. Speaking of photos, take the “View Larger Images” link above to see some good closeups of these gloves. :: Paul, 06-09-12
