Alpinestars Mille Riding Shoes

These boots are sold in US sizes (and half sizes). The width of the boots is D (which is considered to be a “normal” width.)

Caution: Shoe styles from Alpinestars seem to run slightly snug as compared to “normal” street shoe sizes but their race boots seem to be a bit on the loose side as compared to normal street shoe sizes. If you own Alpinestars race boots and you use the US/Euro conversion chart to choose a US size for the shoes, you’ll likely wind up getting a shoe that is too small. So we recommend you choose these shoes based upon your normal US shoe size and if you are between sizes, go up. If you know your Alpinestar race boot size and use the conversion chart to a US size, choose one full US size bigger in the shoe.

The Mille Riding Shoes from Alpinestars are a great option for those looking for a more casual riding shoe that is easy to put on and take off. These shoes use a single Velcro closure at the ankle and a speed lace system which is easy to draw tight with one pull. The pull tab at the end of the laces has Velcro as well and can be secured behind the ankle strap. While these shoes are very quick to put on, they feel secure on your feet and should stay put in the event of a crash. Although there isn’t much in the way of molded protection on these (the base of the heel is the only place I feel any reinforcement), these shoes have quite a bit of ankle padding and support. The outside edges of the toes and heel have a hard rubber to prevent scuffing or catching in case you touch down those areas during very aggressive riding (although if you are riding like that it’s probably best to wear a more dedicated race boot).
