Sizing Information

Hmmm… well, I just scoured AGV Sport’s website and also the website of their distributor, Motonation and they really don’t have an up-to-date size chart for this jacket. I guess you’ve come to the right place for some fit advice because we did a size check using our Fit Test mannequins Huey and Dewey and found them to fit very well. We put a Medium on Huey and an XL on Dewey. The jackets are sold in regular men’s “alpha” sizes, and I came up with a brief chart to show you our estimates of max chest and belly sizes for each. The overall cut is trim and sport-like. If you are between sizes, or prefer a more relaxed fit, then I’d advise choosing larger.

Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 40 34
Medium 42 36
Large 44 38
XL 46 40
XXL 48 42
XXXL 50 44

I listed the belly sizes because this jacket has a taper much like a sport jacket and you will want to make sure the jacket you choose will work if you have a bit of a belly. We have some shots of the two jackets on our Fit Test mannequins and you can see how the jackets fit on them by taking the “View Larger Images” link above.

Our Two Cents

Well, I’m just going by memory here, but I’d say a jacket like this is completely unique to our store. The leather used in this jacket is thick cowhide which is consistent with other sport styles, but it is a black nubuck (or light suede finish). The overall styling is simple… not unlike “scooter” jackets from the 50’s or 60’s. The overall feel and look of the leather is very luxurious (for lack of a better term). I remember when I was a kid, pigskin was a big fashion deal, but those garments had a more coarse suede finish and were sorta stiff, so this jacket is head and shoulders above what I remember those jackets being like. This is a solid leather style, so it will be best suited for cooler to warm weather (but not very hot weather). The jacket has some zippered vents in the front to move some air which will cover the warmer days, although it doesn’t have any rear vents to exhaust hot air. The jacket has the usual complement of armor for the elbows, shoulders and back. Styles come and go, and by nature, people like to be different. So if that is your MO, then this might just be your new style! :: Paul, 05-07-12
