Sizing Information

Hmmm… well, I just scoured AGV Sport’s website and also the website of their distributor, Motonation and they really don’t have an up-to-date size chart for this jacket. I guess you’ve come to the right place for some fit advice because we did a size check using our Fit Test mannequins Huey and Dewey and found them to fit very well. We put a Medium on Huey and an XL on Dewey. The jackets are sold in regular men’s “alpha” sizes, and I came up with a brief chart to show you our estimates of max chest and belly sizes for each. The overall cut is trim and sport-like. If you are between sizes, or prefer a more relaxed fit, then I’d advise choosing larger.

Size Max Chest Max Belly
Small 40 34
Medium 42 36
Large 44 38
XL 46 40
XXL 48 42
XXXL 50 44

The styling cues and color of this jacket lends itself to cruiser or retro style which typically is pretty relaxed, but this jacket fits more like a street sport jacket. Those who want a trim cut will love having a combination like this. I listed the belly sizes because this jacket has a taper much like a sport jacket and you will want to make sure the jacket you choose will work if you have a bit of a belly. We have some shots of the two jackets on our Fit Test mannequins and you can see how the jackets fit on them by taking the “View Larger Images” link above.

Our Two Cents

The Element Vintage jackets are really sharp. Be sure to view our studio pics of the actual jacket because the finish is better represented by our pics than the factory pictures IMHO. The leather has a distressed, semi-matte finish. It is soft to the touch, but sturdy feeling. It feels like it will do a great job for protection, but will break in easily and will probably become a favorite jacket to grab out of the closet. In my fit discussion above, I’ve cautioned that this jacket has a fit more like a sport-oriented jacket than a casual street jacket (which is typical for jackets with cruiser styling). For a motorcyclist looking for a style like this, I’d consider this jacket to be unique with regard to fit. This is a solid leather style, so it will be best suited for cooler to warm weather (but not very hot weather). The jacket has some zippered vents front and rear to move some air which will cover the warmer days. The jacket has the usual complement of armor for the elbows, shoulders and back. Overall, I really like the style, and I think if the color and such suits you, you will enjoy having a jacket that provides the safety and motorcycle-specific features not found on other more casual jackets. :: Paul, 05-07-12
